A Quick Thank You

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a quick thank you to everyone who has participated in my Toro Stroller giveaway thus far. What I love most about this contest--other than the chance to give someone a fabulous stroller, of course--is the fact that I'm discovering tons of new people and blogs that I never knew existed.

With so many entries pouring in, I really can't reply to everyone individually, but rest assured I'm reading all of your comments and exploring all of your blogs! I'll be adding many of them to my Blog Patrol soon--when I have a spare minute!

It's a good thing the winner of this giveaway will be chosen at random because there's no way I could choose from so many wonderful people! Thanks again for your enthusiasm, kind words, and fair play. I hope you'll continue spreading the word because everyone deserves a chance to win a free stroller!

Much Love,

Stroller Savings: Free Gift with Toro Stroller

Happy Friday, everyone! Here's another way to save while stroller shopping--straight from Mother Goose!

From now until May 15th, if you buy a Micralite Toro Stroller from Strollers.com you get a Toro Stroller Seat Liner *free*

I first introduced you to the Toro last June and gushed about its many great features such as it's lightweight maneuverability and simple, one-handed fold.

Then in January of this year I was happy to share that Consumer Reports named the Toro the #1 luxury stroller. It went up against stroller heavyweight Bugaboo and managed to come out on top!

So if you've been thinking about buying a Toro Stroller for you and your baby, now is a great time. The Stroller Seat Liner is made of machine washable fleece to keep baby comfortable. It also allows you to further personalize your stroller--for free ($45 value!). Choose from Pink, Green or Blue *or* go wild with Zebra or Leopard print.

Sure, we're in a recession but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun with your stroller shopping--so long as you keep reading Stroller Patroller for great stroller savings and other deals from Strollers.com!

Congratulations, Toro Stroller!

I may not enjoy tooting my own horn (okay, okay of course I do...) but back in June I predicted that Micralite's Toro Stroller was on the verge of stroller stardome here in the States.

And guess what I found out today? Consumer Reports recently rated the Toro as the #1 luxury (re: over $300) stroller! That means it had the best overall rating despite stiff competition from Bugaboo's Bee and Frog strollers, Peg Perego's Pliko P3, and Stokke's Xplory.

And in case you're wondering, the results were as follows: Toro, Bee, Pliko P3, Xplory, and finally Frog.

The strollers are rated in 4 categories: Durability, Manueverability, Safety, and Ease of Use. My favorite is manueverability because apparently trained staffers test the strollers by taking them through S turns, cones and dirt trails among other obstacles and this sound like it could possibly be my dream job (call me!). The Toro was rated as Excellent in every category except for ease of use, for which it was given a Very Good.

Congratulations, Toro! I suggest you introduce yourself to this hot British import at Strollers.com.

Micralite Makes a Name for Itself in the States

The British Invasion continues this week because I want to introduce you to another (cue British accent) brilliant stroller from the UK: the Micralite Toro. Micralite is well known in the UK but not as well known here in the States.

Yet.

If you dream of being the mom on the block with the mysterious, stylish stroller that none of the other mom's recognize, this could be the one for you!

Micralite has a vaguely Bugaboo sort of look to it thanks to its ergonomic design and aluminum frame but there's something distinctly different about it. One feature that sets it apart is its wheels. The Micralite has two larger, air-filled tires in the back and two smaller tires in the front. This may look unusual, but it makes the stroller very easy to manuever. This stroller is also--as the name suggests--very lightweight, which makes it a great option for urban parents who might have to lug it up and down the stairs to their apartment(something that's not so easily accomplished with a Bugaboo). A uniquely easy one-handed fold makes this stroller even more attractive to city-dwellers who might need to sqeeze into an elevator and jump in a taxi at a moment's notice.

There are two options for making the stroller usable from birth. Micralite has added a Newborn Carrycot, which snaps right into the Toro frame. You can use the Carrycot until your baby reaches 20 lbs and then switch to the stroller seat, which will accomodate your child up to 40 lbs. If purchasing the Carrycot seems uneccessary, just get the car seat adaptor, which works with either Graco or Maxi-Cosi car seats.

Ciaran at Celebrity Baby Blog recently shared her thoughts on the Toro. She reports that celebrities like Halle Berry, Trista Sutter, and Amy Poehler all have Micralite Toros. This stroller may still be a relative unknown on this side of the pond...but not for long.

Find out more about Micralite at Strollers.com.
